Anderson Lowe

Percussion Instructor

Anderson Lowe is from Greenwood, South Carolina and is an alumni of Emerald High School. He is currently on his third year at Lander University studying Percussion Performance. He performs in Lander’s Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combo, Percussion Ensemble, Pep Band, and BCM band. Anderson is on his first year as a Drum Line instructor at EHS. On the weekends, Anderson plays the Timpani at South Main Baptist Church. 

Chip Torgerson

Chip Torgerson is a native of Charleston, South Carolina and a graduate of Summerville High School.
He attended Charleston Southern University and the University of South Carolina, graduating with a
degree in Music. He has over 20 years combined experience marching and teaching music and
marching in several states in the southeastern US.
Mr. Torgerson has served over 20 years in the Army, performing for eight of those years in Army
Bands. He has been a featured soloist at the Spoleto Festival in Charleston and has played with
Maynard Ferguson and his Big Bop Nouveau band. He marched three seasons with Carolina Crown
Drum and Bugle Corps, taking part of Crown’s first World Championship in 1993. As a part of Drum
Corps Associates, he has performed as a featured soloist with CorpsVets, Jackson Generals, and
Frontier Drum and Bugle Corps.
His teachers include Susan Sievert-Messersmith, Mark Clodfelter, Keith Amstutz, Alex Jokipii, Robert
Sullivan, and Roger Ingram.
